“Agriculture is the branch of  biological science,which deals with the cultivation of soil,production of crops by practicing of farming and rearing of animals such as livestock and poultry. It also deals with the management practices of crops and livestock’s “.
Agriculture may be defined as the technology of utilizing knowledge/ principle of different  branches of science for production, improvement, protection, processing, marketing, extension etc of crops by proper use of resources
As a branch of biological science agriculture is the most important agricultural sector.
 Farming was once the chief way of life in nearly every country. People cannot live without food, and nearly all their food comes from crops and animals raised on farms. Many other materials such as cotton and wool also come from plants and animals raised on farms. Not many people farm for a living any more, but farming remains the most important occupation in the world.
